HILLS SECOND AT SUNNY CORNER

David Hills (Escort BDA) and navigator Paul Bennett finished second outright to the Nissan Silvia of Flint and Dowsett in the second round of the AMSAG rally series held in the Sunny Corner forests 21st April 2012. David led a ten crew Bathurst Light Car Club attack on the Sunny Corner Rally with all crews completing the rally. Fourth outright went to Tony Jordan and Bradley Robinson (Triumph Stag) who missed third by just sixteen seconds. Ron and Jo Moore (Commodore) were pleased to finish tenth, a mere five seconds ahead of Andrew and David Travis (Datsun P510), after the Datsun dropped four minutes on stage three, Bob’s Creek. One minute behind the Travis crew was John Paine and Andrew Crowley (Lancer). Mark and Ron Gallagher (Suzuki Baleno) finished twenty fourth leading the other five BLCC crews home, John Hills and Mick Tuckey (Escort BDA), John Henderson and Jeff West (Torana), Andrew and David Robinson (Lancer), with Steven Wells and Adam Geary (Escort) behind them. Round three, the Oberon Rally, is to be conducted on May 19th over 126kl of forest roads around the logging communities of Black Springs and Oberon at altitudes over 1200 metres.
