Bathurst Real Estate is once again supporting a Bathurst sports person, Brad Shiels was offered the opportunity to race against his father Steven in similar cars. Brad was offered a drive in a top performing Sports Sedan but needed a little support to secure the drive and thanks to Bathurst Real Estate a deal was made. Friday’s morning practice had its problems with set up and Brad was restricted to a 2.26 lap still only 10seconds off the fastest time set by his father Steven. Qualifying did not go well for Brad when the car was stuck in second gear and still suffering from set up problems was unable to complete a lap. He would start from the back of the field. 5.00 pm the first race saw Brad at the back of a strong sports sedan field. Brad was able to bring the Bathurst Real Estate Comaro from 31st (last) on the grid to finish 9th in a race car that looked as if it was not yet completely set up. Well done Brad and Bathurst Real Estate. Steven damaged his car in qualifying and did not race. Fellow member competing Glen Pro (Toyota) only completed one lap.
