Self-Extraction Requirements
From 2025, all Motorsport Australia licenced competitors must be able to get out of their vehicles in 10 seconds or less.
To allow competitors to become more familiar with the procedure, in 2024 competitors will have 15 seconds to demonstrate the ability self-extract from their vehicle.
This change follows advice from safety committees and international standards. Competitors had tests throughout a trial in 2023, and most were able to get out in less than 10 seconds.
The test will occur at events as part of scrutineering, or during a designated time listed in an event's Supplementary Regulations.15 seconds 2024 10 seconds 2025-beyond
